McCann, Hynes, and Seniors Lead Drexel to Victory Over Georgetown, 157-139

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Drexel women's swimming and diving team won its third dual meet of the season by defeating Georgetown, 157-132. The Dragons won 11 events and set two new pool records in the victory.
Sophomore Kate Hynes highlighted the team's performance by breaking the Drexel Pool record in the 1-meter dive. Hynes recorded 276.675 points in her first-place finish in the 1-meter event which broke the previous pool record of 273.05, set by Brigid Mitchell in 2000. Hynes posted the best score of the day in the 3-meter event as well (315.15).
The Dragon seniors, Alison Augustyn, Courtney Dantone, Maureen Hanlon and Caitlin Mulholland competed well on senior day in their final competition at Drexel Pool by combining to earn 35.50 team points. Dantone finished first in the 1000 freestyle (11:00.62), Hanlon earned a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle (56.04), Augustyn placed third in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.07) and Hanlon and Mulholland both helped the 400 freestyle relay grab first place in 3:40.40.
Katie McCann was also a key competitor in the Dragon victory as she posted four first-place finishes. McCann placed first in the 50 (25.31), 200 (1:54.35), and 500 (5:08.44) freestyle events and anchored the 400 freestyle relay team to a first-place finish. Sarah Keeley contributed 28 points to the team total by winning three events. She took the top honors in the 100 (1:08.81) and 200 (2:30.47) butterfly and the 200 IM (2:15.58). Kaitlin Slowey won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:12.46 to round out the individual first-place finishers.
The Dragon divers are set to compete at the Rutgers Invitational, Saturday, Feb. 10, and the full squad will return to competition at the Colonial Athletic Association championships, Feb. 14-17.
